Amazon makes it really easy for you to publish a book using their direct publishing tool. Here is a link that explains self publishing and how to get started https://kdp.amazon.com/en_US/
The direct publishing tool makes all the hard stuff easy such as:
Book Content: You can upload a manuscript, or use our free creation tools to create children’s books, educational content, comics, and manga.
Book Cover: You can use our online Cover Creator, or upload a cover of your own.
Description, Keywords and Categories: Tell readers about your book and help them find it on Amazon.
ISBN: Get a free ISBN to publish your paperback. Kindle eBooks don’t need one.
Publishing comparison
Before:

Amazon Direct Publishing was recently used to publish Ruby’s Recipes. Amazon was used to make a better way to print my Mother-in-law’s cookbook. Ruby, an amazing cook, has been testing and collecting recipes for years. The process of printing out 21 different categories and then binding the pages together was expensive, labour intensive and costly to sent to family and friends that live all over the world.
Now:

The publishing took less than an hour to get everything into the direct publishing tool. Ruby had the manuscript in 21 categories so a PDF tool was used to combine these categories into a single manuscript. The PDF step took longer than the publishing as we had to install Adobe and merge the files. The file was loaded, a cover was selected and the book was published and available on Amazon within 24 hours.
With direct publishing the book is available for anyone, anywhere in the world and delivered within days for the low cost of $10.09 CDN. The last time Ruby’s recipes was printed the cost was $60.00 CDN!
If you want a copy of Ruby’s Recipes search Amazon or go here if you are in Canada: https://www.amazon.ca/Rubys-Recipes-Mrs-Ruby-Tretiak/dp/1677837659/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_pdt_img_top?ie=UTF8
